ff8.0 support MYSQL?
hi,

can i know is it supported by MYSQL?

i am currently using ff8.0 and ff6.0 (old system).

Is there any utilities or tools to convert from my old ff6.0 to new ff8.0 (such as sql join, data item...)?

thank you.

Hi Darren.

Yes, Foxfire! does support MySQL.

Foxfire! supports any database that provides an ODBC driver and supports standard SQL calls. If you do find there are any SQL incompatibilities, you can choose which core database SQL format you want to use - that usually helps resolve any differences.

Regarding upgrading, Foxfire! 8.0 has an Import from process that will import any older setup (we have run it from a 3.0 install as well as a 6.0) and convert it into a Foxfire! 8.0 environment.

Keep in mind that if you are moving from a DBF environment to a mySQL environment or another database, your data items may need to be modified unless the data structures are identical.

Re: ff8.0 support MYSQL?
Hi Andrew,
We have just developed a php-mysql based system and we don't have a reporting tool yet. We are quite intrigued by the fact that Foxfire can now be utilized for the web (having used the desktop version FFv6 before). Is there any demo version of the foxfire-web that we can try?
