Departments - where are they set up?

Greetings!

I don't see where Departments are set up in FF?  Is this just an input field on the User Maintenance form or is there a table containing the values to insure consistency?

Hi Scott,

Yes - Departments is simply an input field on BOTH the User Maintenance and Report Set forms.

They are useful for doing custom request filtering. For example, you may have specific report sets for Sales and another for Payroll.

Since the User table is shared between both report sets, you could set up individual users for specific departments.

However, there is no lookup table to ensure consistency.
