Relationship File Issues
My office is having some issues with the relationship files that is preventing us from running reports with tables other than PARTENRL and PROGRAM. I would also like to note that from this office nobody has ever been able to use Foxfire to successfully print mailing labels. I am just going to copy and paste the email I just sent to the Foxfire reporting bug report.

I started from scratch with a new report set. In the Setup Wizard is where I encountered my first error message: ODBC.INI couldn't be found. Then, I loaded 4 tables - PARTENRL, ADDRESS, PROGRAM and CASEASGN. I set up the relationships with PARTENRL as the parent with the primary as part_id_i or addr_id_i.

I tried to do labels. I received this message : One of more JOINs have been added or deleted since you last modified the default JOINs. Please recheck the custom JOIN settings before running this request.

I fiddled around with it for a bit, then I went to System Administrator and chose to check for errors. I received this message: Index does not match the table. Delete the index file and re-create the index.

Not seeing a "delete index" option, I instead chose to "re-index", but kept getting the message "Rpt_join is in use by another. Try again?" And the process would load new data items, but keep getting stuck on "updating relationships file structure" and then would seem to keep cycling through before coming back to that point and getting stuck again. After a few tries the process terminated with the message "STOP Could not open relationship file - update canceled."

So, if there is anything I can do to fix this issues, I would really like to know what it is. Whatever the problem is, it's preventing us from using Foxfire how we would like to.

Thank you!

Re: Relationship File Issues
Has this been working properly in the past?

If so, open an existing report that is having the problem and go to the Filter tab, click on Expand Search and then click Reset to Default. This should reset any joins that may be stopping the request from.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, please export the request in question and send it to support@foxfirereporting.com.

Thanks

Andrew
