Copying report filters
I'm wondering if there is a system in place to copy a report filter. I know that I can copy a report and modify that, but often I need the same filter I just set for one report to be used for a different report also. For example, every month I run several reports based on certain field values. I need to run those reports all for those values. The reports have different layouts, but the filters are much the same. Not a pressing item, but it would be nice. Copying the value from a filter line and pasting in another report does not appear to work.

Re: Copying report filters
Interesting idea, Hans...
One question: if you are running them every month, are these reports where you are always putting in a similar date range (such as first and last days of a month)? If so, you could use Filter Expressions instead of Ask At Runtime values to accomplish your need.
However, I'm intrigued by the idea. Based on your description, would it be better to:
a) define and save a set of filters separately and then say "These reports use this pre-defined filter set" and then when you run them, you only get prompted once and then they are copied over
b) simply support direct copy and paste for individual filters (so you woudl still have to enter them in each time)
c) some other approach.
Let me know.

Re: Copying report filters
I would prefer option A. I often have six or seven filters set. Possibly one with 13 items in a list. I thought about trying a copy of the SQL statement and then pasting that in the next report, but I haven't checked to see what that does to the displayed filters. Currently I take a screenshot of a screen section with SnagIt and have that displayed on my other screen. Sorry I didn't check back sooner.
