Error involving ffprefer.fpt
I have recently begun supporting a database system that runs Foxfire! 6.06 for reporting.

Recently, I noticed the following error message begin popping up in a Foxfire! Error dialog box when a user attempts to edit a request:
"There is not enough disk space for \\path\to\file\ffprefer.fpt."
Where \\path\to\file\ is the UNC path to ffprefer.fpt. Upon checking that path, ffprefer.fpt is 2GB in size.

Why does this happen, and how should I go about fixing it?

I'm guessing that reindexing the Foxfire system files will fix it, but I'm hoping to prevent it from happening in the future as well, so I'd kind of like to understand why it is happening.
I am going to try the reindexing tonight after everyone is out of the system.

Any ideas why ffprefer.fpt (I am guessing it is the preference set) has grown so large?

Thanks!

Re: Error involving ffprefer.fpt
If your FFPREFER is growing that large, it may be due to your cache. The only real items that are being stored in there is a cache of data items. Try clearing the field PF_CACHE and see if that resolves the problem.

If so, then you may want to set the FFCONFIG variable for the cache to .F. (it's noted in the FFCONFIG.PRG file)
