Re: Integrate FoxFire into my application
Dear Stanley:

It looks like this is exactly what I am looking for. Probably this will not work for my foxpro 2.6 for window application. Can you tell me which version of FoxPro you are using ? And can you tell me where to find the information to do the above. So maybe I can work out something similar. Thank you.

Re: Integrate FoxFire into my application

Dan,

This is Chick. I don't think that Stanley is involved in this discussion. I was confused before and used his name, thinking dj was him. But now I realize it's you. .

As to your last question, I don't understand what you are asking for. Can you please clarify it?

Are you saying that Foxfire! v8 does not fit your needs? Or are you saying it does?

If you are saying it does not fit your needs, do you want to proceed with the deactivation and refund?

Re: Integrate FoxFire into my application
Dear Chick:

The reason I mention stanley is he present a solution using batch file, which looks like may be able to resolve my problem. I am not sure if his solution can be used in fox pro 2.6. That is why I am asking.

Currently, I have two question ?

1. Can foxfire recognize and run fox pro 2.6's report file .FRX file

2. Andrew shows me how to activate the foxfire from inside my fox pro 2.6 application. Can I pass path/filename from my application to foxfire to generate the report in pdf file with the specificed path/filename. Without user input the filename.

Thank you

Re: Integrate FoxFire into my application
Dan - Yes, you can do it just as Stanley called it - the only difference would be you would need to create your OWN EXE file that would run Foxfire!.

If you don't have access to a VFP9 Runtime, we could certainly modify the STARTFF program to manage this process for you.

On your questions:

1. Foxfire! cannot directly import FRX files as you noted - although once the Foxfire! request has been created, you can certainly modify it using the FoxPro layout designer from within Foxfire.

2. You could do this by modifying the STARTFF program and/or the batch file to prompt the user for the output file.

Let me know if you are able to do this with VFP or if you need some assistance on it.

Thanks

Andrew

Re: Integrate FoxFire into my application
Dear Andrew:

Thank you for your help. 1. I don't have VFP 9.0 runtime. 2. I don't know how to prepare a .exe file. will need your help. But first I think I need to find out if VFP 9.0 and FoxFire can recognize Fox Pro 2.6's database file ? If yes, how to do it ? Thank you again for your help.
